because recognizing your strengths is at least as important as facing your weaknesses! i’ll go first. i like how i write dialogue. i think it’s pretty natural and the characters’ voices feel individual.
now it’s your turn.
Okay, art… I like my lines. They are very smooth.
In writing, I like my characters. They’re well-rounded and human.
(Do you have any idea how difficult that was to type out without any qualifiers or “but this and this and this could use improvement!” clauses? IT WAS REALLY HARD. If I can do it, so can you.)
UM. Okay. Reblogging so More people do this too :>
I like the solidity and motion of my figures and the motion in my drapery.
(nbvdakjfbdakj I agree with Kenneth, It’s very hard to not add qualifiers.)
NOW YOU
(I think part of the reason not adding qualifiers is so difficult is because it feels like bragging, and we’re raised to be humble? Or something? Maybe?
It might also be the fear that saying you’re proud of something is a bit like saying “HERE IS MY WEAK SPOT, TAKE AIM!” to trolls. Like, you admit one aspect of your art is what you’re most proud of. Now everyone knows exactly what kind of criticism is going to hurt the most. You say, “I’m proud of my colors,” they say “Your colors suck,” you feel like there’s a bullet wound in your chest. Like you deserved to be taken down because you had the gall to brag about it in the first place.
TL;DR - Thinking too hard about self-esteem building exercise and missing the point in the process.)
People say that my drawings have a “sweetness” to them, which is quite nice. Also I’m learning more about colors through experimentation!
Oh baw. This is a fantastic idea for a post. It makes me so happy so see people feeling good about certain aspects of their art. <3
I am having much more fun with inking now that I am using brush pens, and I think it’s showing positively in my lineart. Also I am pretty fond of the faces I draw!
I hope everyone does this. As valuable as it is to discover where we are weakest so we can improve it, it is also valuable to recognize what we are doing well and what we get the most joy from!
Hmm, I quite like how I do my watercolour pieces, even if they’re not amazingly detailed or a bit messy at time etc. I still proud of them, even if I don’t do many these days :/ I’m also pretty proud of how I draw faces, just in general, as well.
I like the way my writing flows. I know I’m the writer so I’m slightly biased but I always find my writing really smooth and easy to read and understand.
Empathy in my writing. That would be it.
EVERYTHING. BECAUSE I’M FUCKING AWESOME.
I can make a story out of a single word. any word, any kind of word, even any combination of words. and it will always be filled with awesome.
I am proud of my passion for my artwork.
